About Us
Welcome to the Staffordshire Figure Association.
Established in 1996, the Association comprises members from across the globe who share their pleasure in English pottery figures made from the eighteenth to twentieth centuries.

Some of us are professionals in the decorative arts world, but most of us are collectors. Our mission is to broaden collecting enjoyment so that our figures will be preserved for future generations.
We want to share the fascinating history of the Staffordshire potters and the folk art they produced with as many people as are interested. We believe you are never too old or too young to start collecting, and we are lucky to have a group of exceptionally knowledgeable people in our membership who are always happy to share their insights on Staffordshire figures.
Every year (world conditions permitting) the Staffordshire Figure Association meets for an annual conference that brings together our members from around the world. We try to alternate between hosting the conference in the UK and in the US.
Our US conferences typically stretch over three days and are notable for their camaraderie. Members share information, learn from each other and from experts, and visit nearby collections and museums. The event culminates in a much-awaited show, where dealers and collectors buy and sell figures. Locations have included Chicago (IL); Alexandria and Williamsburg (VA); Washington (DC); Cape Cod (MA); Garden City (NY); Lambertville (NJ); Long Beach (CA); Philadelphia (PA) and Winston-Salem (NC).
Recent UK conferences have taken place in London and Staffordshire, with special tours to museums including the V&A and the Potteries museum in Stoke-on-Trent, alongside visits to see members’ collections.
Recent US conference have taken place in New York and the NY Metro area, visiting the homes of members with the opportunity to purchase figures.
Please note anyone wishing to attend future conferences must be an Association member. We welcome you to join us today!
