Samson and the Lion According to Pugh this figure is Samson from the bible in the act of opening a lion's jaw with both hands. However, there is much controversy surrounding his identity as others have called him Van Amburgh, Hercules and Crockett. Circa 1840, it is in good condition with some flaking on his scarf and minuscule flaking on the lion's mane.
