Since its inception, the Staffordshire Figure Association has met each year in places as far-flung as the Staffordshire region of the United Kingdom and Dallas, Texas. US locations of prior conferences have included Alexandria, VA, Cape Cod, MA, Garden City, NY, Lambertville, NJ, Long Beach, CA, Philadelphia, PA, Williamsburg, VA and Winston-Salem, NC. Our most recent conference was in October 2019, returning to the Alexandria, VA/Washington DC area.
Our US conferences typically stretch over three days and are notable for their camaraderie. Members share information, learn from each other and from experts, and visit nearby collections and museums. The event culminates in a much-awaited show, where dealers and collectors buy and sell figures.
The 2021 conference will return to the United Kingdom as a week-long trip. It will start in Central London in early September where delegates will gather for the usual meet and greet at a hotel in Mayfair. There will be visits to the Victoria and Albert Museum and Buckingham Palace. The delegates will then move north to the pretty Cheshire town of Knutsford. This part of the trip will encompass visits to the Wedgwood Museum and the Thomas Balston collection, the great country houses of Tatton and Dunham Massey, viewings of a number of Staffordshire collections, the annual dinner, the Annual General Meeting and a sale of figures. Please note anyone wishing to attend must be an Association member.
